Description:

Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision (I-A) NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the full-time position of Coordinator, Player Development for Men’s Basketball. This is a 12-month, full-time position. This position will report directly to the head men’s basketball coach. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA and the NCAA.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
• Serves as a liaison to the Academic Services department to track and promote the academic success of student-athletes
• Ensures student-athletes needs are met as they relate to personal, academic, and athletic goals
• Provides a positive atmosphere conducive to the social and academic growth of student-athletes
• Acts under the direction of the head men’s basketball coach by collecting and reviewing recruitment documentation, arranging/scheduling recruitment and campus visits, preparing general correspondence, and • Collaborates with medical, training, and conditioning staff to monitor performance to enhance individual and team potential
• Collaborates with athletics department staff to coordinate summer basketball campus and other special projects
• Serves as a liaison between departments offering assistance and guidance in dealing with compliance, student services, scheduling, travel plans, facilities, and housing
• Analyzes and evaluates practice and game film
• Charts and compiles information/statistics to forecast individual and team efforts
• Collaborates with coaches in improving individual and team performance
• Other duties as assigned by the head men’s basketball coach.
• All duties will be performed in compliance with NCAA, Conference USA, and Western Kentucky University policies, procedures, and regulations
