Pfeiffer University has an opening for a part time Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach/ Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Regular duties include overall athletic development and strength & conditioning of the men’s basketball team, assisting the director in implementing year round training programs for the student-athletes based on the physiological needs of the sport as well as establishing a positive rapport with the student-athletes and coaching staff while establishing themselves as a coaching figure and conducting themselves accordingly.
Potential candidates should be highly motivated with a strong desire to work in a fast paced and competitive training environment. The ideal candidate must possess strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy, be able to demonstrate a wide variety of exercises including Olympic lifting techniques, and one to two years’ experience coaching free weight exercise. Former collegiate athlete experience preferred. Should possess First Aid and CPR certifications, be a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist or studying for it and a Bachelor’s degree or completing requirements to attain degree. Due to the nature of the duties as they relate to working with student – athletes a background check is required prior to the start of the position.
