Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the full time position of Head Coach for the men’s basketball program and Coordinator of game day operations. The head coach manages and oversees the operations of the men’s basketball program and assists the Athletic Director in maintenance and management of all home athletic events. IU Kokomo’s athletic program is a member of the River States Conference (RSC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). IU Kokomo offers men’s and women’s cross country, men and women’s basketball, men and women’s golf, women’s volleyball, women’s tennis and men’s baseball.

Reporting to the Athletic Director, essential duties include, but are not limited to:
recruit, train, mentor, and coach quality student athletes, plan and execute the schedule of all contests and practices in compliance with RSC and NAIA regulations; perform administrative tasks including the operation of the basketball program within budgetary guidelines; monitor academic progress of student athletes; develop opportunities to participate in service activities and encourage participation in the NAIA Champions of Character program; set up and manage all facility needs on a daily basis for the Cougar gym, including coordination with the other programs and monitoring the facility for maintenance, cleanliness, and use; supervise assistant coach(es), graduate assistants, interns and/or student workers; work with the Sports Information Director to maintain the basketball programs’ marketing and web page.

Qualifications: earned Bachelor’s degree and three years of demonstrated ability to teach the techniques, rules, and strategy of basketball. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required, as are written and verbal communication skills; valid driver’s license is required and willingness to work evenings/weekends; working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office and web applications is also required.
