The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Director of Basketball Operations (Sports Program Associate) to work in the Men’s Basketball program. This is an entry-level, full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package.
The successful candidate will be expected to direct the operational function of a competitive NCAA Division I team while following University of Cincinnati and departmental policies, NCAA Division I, and Conference bylaws and regulations.
Responsible for all aspects of any of the following functions within a sport program:
•Player Development (prepare student-athletes for personal, academic, and professional success)
•Business Operations (direct the operational and logistics function of the program)
•Video Coordination (plan, edit, and produce videography used in coaching and scouting student-athletes)
•Player Personnel (liaison in recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes)
•Recruiting Associates (supports recruiting activities through scouting, planning and coordination of official visits)
•Administrative Associate (provide direct administrative support and coordination to the coaching staff and support personnel)•Identify program needs and implement program improvements.•Collaborate with staff to perform administrative tasks in line with program and departmental goals. Serve as ambassador of the program and look for opportunities to connect the program to the community and business partners.•May be required to drive a university vehicle and/or student-athletes.•May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).•Perform related duties based on departmental need. Previous experience as a coach or collegiate player or work in an athletic department setting.
