Summary of Position: This position is responsible for a highly competitive men’s basketball program which competes in the North Star Athletic Association and NAIA. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: knowing and abiding by all University, NAIA, and North Star Athletic Association rules and regulations; coaching, recruiting, monitoring student athletes’ academic progress, budgeting and scheduling, organization, and implementation of practice and game plans. This position is 100% FTE for 11 months with an August 1 start date.
Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Athletic Director
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Strength and Condition, Sports Administration and/or a related field
• Basketball coaching and playing experience
• Recruiting experience
• Software skills in MS Office Suite, including MS Word and Excel
• Detailed orientated, conscientious
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work well with diverse populations
• Ability to present professional demeanor at all times
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree
• College basketball coaching experience
• College teaching experience
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
• Administer the men’s basketball program
• Administer recruitment of student-athletes for men’s basketball
• Complete other duties as assigned by the University and Athletic Department
