Position: Fitness Center Director / Head Men’s Basketball Coach, C43, Full-Time, 12 Months (Fitness Center), 10 Months (Coach), 40 hours weekly), Exempt, Benefited
Start Date: July 1, 2016
Summary:
- Manage and direct all Fitness Center operations
- Organize, direct and administer from 1 August – 31 May each fiscal year the NJCAA Region IX EWC Men’s Basketball program
- Interview, hire, train, schedule, and supervise Fitness Center staff
- Responsible for all Men’s Basketball program operations; staff selection, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, recruiting, & manage/monitor players’ academic progress
- Know and follow NJCAA and Region IX men’s basketball rules
Essential Duties:
- Develop, maintain, enforce the Fitness Ctr participation procedures manual
- Ensure a safe Fitness Center educational & working environment; be ready to take immediate action in response to health and safety emergencies
- Instruct Fitness Center credit courses; prepare syllabi, teach, issue grades
- Maintain, repair, and replace Fitness Center equipment
- Administer men’s basketball program budget; develop travel plans which adhere to budget guidelines and practices
- Advise the development and plans of fund-raising activities; create/maintain relationships that promote best interest of EWC and men’s basketball
- Ensure AD is informed on issues, policies, & procedures ref basketball program
- Prepare/submit Fitness Center annual participation & expenditure reports
- Regular regional travel as basketball coach
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Phys Ed or related field
- One year administration experience at college or high school level
- One-to-three years coaching experience at collegiate or HS level
- Or…an equivalent combination of education, administration, and fitness & coaching experience at the college or HS level
- Excellent communication, leadership and organizational acumen
- Demonstrated talent to connect with and recruit student-athletes
- Valid state Driver License & ability to acquire Wyo CDL w/“P” endorsement
