Multiple sources are reporting that former UALR head coach Steve Shields will be hired by Missouri as a special assistant to head coach Kim Anderson.  Shields, who was released in March, had been the head coach at UALR since 2003 (192-178).  Last month, Shields joined Porter Moser’s staff at Loyola (Chicago) as an assistant – the two had previously worked together at UALR when Moser was the head coach there (Shields replaced Moser when he became the head coach at Illinois State).  The official announcement is expected this week.
