Recruiting and coaching carousel drama may dominate basketball headlines during the summer, but a growing number of coaches are using the offseason to reduce drama within their programs.
“We strive to be elite in every area of our program and get an edge in any way we can.” explains Bart Lundy, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Queens University. “Last summer, we identified operations and efficiency off-the-court as an area to improve.”
They found TeamSynced, the team operations platform built specifically for collegiate-athletics.
Queens isn’t the only team making organization strides during the offseason—over 100 college hoops programs put TeamSynced into action during the last two summers.
Brandon Curran, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at East Texas Baptist University, says streamlining operations with TeamSynced is especially effective during the summer:
“This helps us stay organized from the very start of the season—especially getting freshman used to odd class schedules and having to juggle so many different things,” says Curran.
“It’s a no brainer for anybody that’s interested in having a team that’s well-organized and running efficiently.”
Another reason for the summer Ops push is to reduce distracting mid-season administrative noise, when coaches would much rather focus on improving on-court performance.
“The summer allows for a painless implementation. We ramp you up with a short training call, upload your class schedules when they become available, and you’re off,” says TeamSynced General Manager Andrew Miller. “Our goal is to make engaging with modern student-athletes easier.”
Fresh off last season’s DII Final Four appearance, Queens has proved to be elite on-the-court, but did the Royals improve their efficiency off-the-court as well?
“TeamSynced has helped us achieve that goal and get better as a program,” says Coach Lundy.
