New Purchase College head men’s basketball coach Kyle Martin continues to shape his coaching staff for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
Like his recruiting efforts on the floor, Martin has added a nice piece to his bench, bringing in a recent local standout player in Alexis Nunez, who is making the transition to coaching.
Nunez, a former White Plains High School standout, finished his four-year career at SUNY Cobleskill this past spring as an All-Conference 1st Team performer, winning NEAC Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player on the way to winning the 2015 conference tournament and earning a bid to the NCAA.
Nunez graduated from Cobleskill in May 2015 with a degree in Business Administration. Nunez also played for legendary high school coach Spencer Mayfield at White Plains.
“Alexis is a welcomed addition,” Martin said. “We’re very happy to add him to our staff. He was a terrific player and he’s already showing the same potential as a young coach in the game.”
