Bridgewater State University Head Coach Joe Farroba logged his 300th career coaching victory as the visiting Bears downed the Engineers of MIT, 61-49, in non-conference men’s basketball action on Thursday night.
Farroba has produced a career mark of 300-258 (.538) in 22 seasons as a collegiate head coach, all of them spent at Bridgewater State.
Since taking the reins of the Bears program in 1992, Coach Farroba and success have become synonymous on the hardwood. Under his tutelage, the Bears have reached postseason play eight times, including NCAA Division III Tournament appearances in 1999, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011. After capturing the MASCAC Tournament championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament "Sweet Sixteen" in 2009, Bridgewater State has captured two more conference tournament titles and and made a pair of return trips to the NCAAs.
