Marian University Ancilla College is excited to announce Jeremy Herring as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the 2022-23 season.

After four, very successful seasons, as Head Coach for the Chargers, Brian Pearison is taking on a more intense role as Athletic Director.  He is working to develop MUAC Athletics into a higher level program where all of the athletic teams are highly successful.  In order to do this, he is also taking on a huge role in our fundraising department.

Pearison stated ” Jeremy will be a great addition to the MUAC Men’s Basketball program and I have no doubt that he will continue their success.  With his leadership, there are great things ahead”.

Coach Herring had the opportunity to assist Head Coach Brian Pearison this season. “I am extremely humbled and grateful to Brian Pearison for selecting me to serve as the next Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Marian University Ancilla College.  In his time here he has established a standard of athletic excellence on the court and has built Ancilla Men’s basketball into one of the top NJCAA D2 programs in the country.  I am looking forward to continuing his legacy of competing for championships.”

Before MUAC, coach Herring had a vast array of coaching experience including three years as assistant coach at the University of Illinois-Springfield.

Alongside his coaching career, Coach Herring graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Indiana University, Master of Organizational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University, and Juris Doctor, Cum Laude from Valparaiso University Law School. Coach Herring is presently Assistant Professor of Business here at MUAC where he can be hands-on with our student athletes and their learning.

“I believe that MUAC is the best two-year opportunity for students to prepare themselves for the next step in their lives.  It’s a place where students will develop academically, spiritually, socially, and athletically.   I am excited to play a leading role in that process for our players as men’s basketball coach.”
