The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Head Men’s Basketball Coach. This role is responsible for coaching and teaching; will have the knowledge and the preparation to impart; practice planning, tactical and game strategizing. Must be able to support, encourage and mentor student-athletes. Will monitor and advise in regards to the academic excellence of student-athletes, impart Basketball game and skill knowledge to student-athletes in both individual and team training sessions, collaboration with strength and conditioning coaches on development of training plans for student-athletes. Will have a strong communication and collaboration with sports medicine staff to ensure the health and safety of the student-athletes. Recruits student-athletes that possess the athletic, academic and leadership values consistent with The Citadel.

Will be responsible for all the decision making and administrative reporting in accordance with running the Men’s Basketball Program; will also maintain a balanced budget and financial reporting responsibilities.

Supervises and manages the daily activities of all assistant coaches; provide mentorship and guidance, teach sport related skills and tactical decision making. Provides performance evaluations and performance improvement plans when required, reviews and addresses administrative competency issues as well as provides opportunities for professional development and growth.
