According to a report earlier today from Stadium, Wagner head coach Bashir Mason will replace Shaheen Holloway (Seton Hall) at St. Peter’s.
Mason, a Jersey City native, has been the head coach at Wagner for the past ten seasons (165-130 – .559). This past season, he led Wagner to a 21-6 (15-3 NEC) record, and advanced to the conference championship game.
Mason played his high school ball at St. Benedict’s (NJ) under current UConn head coach Dan Hurley. He also spent two seasons as an assistant to Hurley at Wagner (2010-12) before taking over when Hurley departed for URI.
An official announcement is expected shortly.
