According to a TWEET from Jon Rothstein, Kansas City intends to hire Marvin Menzies as their new Head Basketball Coach. He would replace Billy Donlon, who resigned last week, and has since joined the staff at Clemson.
Menzies has previously served as the head coach at both New Mexico State (2007-16), and UNLV (2016-19). He made 5 NCAA appearances at New Mexico State, winning 21+ games in 7 of his 9 seasons with the Aggies. His career record as a head coach is 246–159 (.607). The veteran coach has also been an assistant at Louisville, USC, UNLV, San Diego State, Sacramento State, and Grand Canyon.
The official announcement is expected today.
