I can now confirm a Jon Rothstein report that Northwestern State head coach Corey Gipson will take over at his alma mater Austin Peay.

In Gipson’s only season at NSU, he led the Demon’s to a 22-11 (13-5 Southland) record and their first appearance in the Southland Conference Championship game since 2013.

Gipson, who played at Austin Peay from 2002-04 also spent three seasons as assistant for the Governors (2012-15).

It also sounds like Northwestern State has already started reaching out to potential replacements. Will run with some names here shortly.
