Daily Dirt – 4/5/23

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

A few things that I’ve heard…

I can confirm that Luke Testani will be named as the Video Coordinator at Iona. He spent last season as an assistant at D3 Amherst College. He also worked as a manager at Michigan and a graduate assistant at Miami. The rest of Tobin Anderson’s staff is here – IONA DIRT.

I have heard that the search at New Hampshire is expected to be done this week. Sounds like this one has been passed on multiple times already. Word on the street is that the money is “beyond bad.” Stay tuned…

Names making the rounds at Utah State include current assistant Nate Dixon (has a ton of internal and external support), former Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski, and current San Jose State head coach Tim Miles. Working on more names today.

The two names mentioned most at Utah Valley are UNLV assistant Barret Peery, and Utah assistant Chris Burgess. Peery is a Utah native who was also the head coach at Portland State, and an assistant at a bunch of places including Texas Tech and Utah. Burgess spent 2015-19 as an assistant at UVU before becoming an assistant at his alma mater.

Speaking of bad…not a good situation at D2 Humboldt State….From the Times Standard: ‘It’s abusive.’ | Players detail toxic culture within Cal Poly Humboldt basketball. Full story HERE.

It sounds like Zoom interviews are starting at D3 UW Stevens Point this week. Working on names now.

I have heard that NJCAA D2 Iowa Western was turned down by at least one NJCAA D1 assistant. Not sure who is up next, but sounds like it was offered to a second candidate. Will have a name soon.

D3 guru Bob Quillman tweeting names “in the mix” with D3 Kenyon: Aaron Toomey (Rochester assistant), Bryan Wickliffe (Case Western assistant), Shane Loeffler (Swarthmore assistant), and Evan Elberg (Gettysburg assistant).
