Description:

Northwest Nazarene University is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant in the Men’s Basketball program. 

This 12-month, part-time position reports to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach. 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform 15 hours per week and other related duties as assigned by the undergraduate Admissions Team 
  • Assist in organizing and operating youth camps
  • Overseeing student assistants and their responsibilities
  • Assisting coaches with scouting, breaking down film using Synergy
  • Assist in individual workouts and support staff in any related practice duties throughout the year
  • Keep inventory and organize all gear and equipment, including communicating with Nike Rep
  • Meal coordination during travel and while in town 
  • As assigned by the coaching staff, recruit prospective student-athletes 

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred candidates will have college playing experience from a 4-year college or university and/or multiple years of managerial experience while an undergraduate supporting the university men’s or women’s basketball program. 
  • High motivation and commitment to the University, organizational skills, the ability to self-start, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, multi-task, problem solve, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
  • The University requires that all staff members be Christians and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University
  • Admission as a full-time student in any graduate program at NNU, effective Fall 2024
