Ralby named Assistant Basketball Coach at Cal Poly Pomona

Noah Ralby joined the Cal Poly Pomona men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach on Monday, it was announced by head coach Greg Kamansky.

Ralby was most recently serving as the Video & Analytics Coordinator for men’s basketball at the University of Washington in 2023-24, after spending two seasons as the Director of Analytics for men’s basketball at Utah State.

“Noah brings a lot of knowledge from his time at Utah State and the University of Washington,” said Kamansky. “His experience working with great coaches at these schools, and the energy he brings to the program, will make him a great fit at CPP. He is capable of filling many roles, which is valuable at the DII level. We’re very excited to bring him on board.”

In Ralby’s lone year at Washington, the Huskies went 17-15 while making an appearance in the Pac-12 Tournament and two players earning Pac-12 honors. While at Utah State, the Aggies reached the NCAA tournament in 2023, and the NIT the year prior, while earning three All-Conference selections. Prior to working with the Aggies, Ralby served as a graduate assistant at UMBC under Head Coach Ryan Odom for two seasons, where he helped guide the Retrievers to their second regular-season championship in school history in 2021.

“I am thrilled to be joining the CPP community,” said Ralby. “CPP men’s basketball’s championship pedigree and commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes made it stand out as an incredible opportunity. I look forward to helping Coach Kamansky and Coach Hill continue to compete for championships.”

Ralby graduated from Johns Hopkins with a bachelor’s degree in economics, helping the Blue Jays men’s basketball program to a 71-32 mark and a Centennial Conference regular-season and tournament title in 2018. JHU advanced to the second round of the 2018 NCAA D-III Men’s Basketball Tournament as Ralby earned NABC Honors Court accolades following the season. He later earned a master’s degree in entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership from UMBC.

The Boca Raton, Florida native joins one of the most decorated Division II programs in the west region, led by head coach Greg Kamansky entering his 24th season with the Broncos, as well as associate head coach Damion Hill entering his 23rd season on the coaching staff. Kamansky and Hill led the program to back-to-back NCAA Finals appearances in 2009 and 2010, winning the program’s first national title in the latter. The Broncos are just one of two west region schools to hold up the trophy in the past 25 years – the other being Western Washington in 2012.

Kamansky’s teams have an impressive overall record of 452-206 (.687), while going 336-153 (.687) in CCAA games. The Broncos have been to the NCAA Tournament 14 times since Kamansky took the helm, winning four west region titles and eight CCAA titles in that span.
