Butler University seeks to hire a permanent full-time assistant coach for the Men’s Basketball Program.

Responsibilities

• Teaching – Assist with teaching and coaching during individual/group skill instruction, practice coaching, game coaching, and scouting which leads to the team’s competitive success. Video breakdown and analysis to aid in game preparation and practice planning. Assist with pre and post season conditioning, weight training, and skill development.
• Recruiting – Identification, evaluation and recruitment of academically qualified and highly skilled student-athletes. Build and cultivate relationships with high school and AAU coaches and programs. Assist in the planning and preparation of on campus official and unofficial visits.
• Student-Athlete Experience – Assist with academic monitoring and personal development of student-athletes. Contribute to building a positive team culture and work to provide an exceptional student athlete experience.
• Other duties as assigned by head coach.

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Collegiate coaching or playing experience, Knowledge of NCAA Division I, Big East and Pioneer Football League rules and regulations
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff.
• Outstanding verbal communication and leadership skills.
