Fisher College Basketball Staff Update

Fisher College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Anthony Leonelli has added four new coaches to the Falcons staff.

Candace New 

New joins the Falcons for the 24-25 season. She makes the jump to the collegiate level after a successful scholastic coaching career in Kentucky. Having most recently serving as the lead assistant at Great Crossing High School. Prior to that she was the Varsity Coach Model Laboratory High School. She was also employed by OTP Hoops a training company in Kentucky. She is a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and will serve in that role as well as an on-floor role for the Falcons. 

Coach Leo on Candace: “Coach New brings us a wealth of experience on the scholastic level and a hunger and passion to advance in this field. She will help us on the court and in the weight room.” 

Kalon Jenkins

Jenkins joins the Falcon Bench after a storied career on the scholastic and AAU levels. He spent the last 15 years at Randolph (MA) High School where he won 3 conference titles and 1 MIAA State Championship. Prior to that he was an assistant for a Stoughton High School program that won four league titles in a six-year span. On the AAU level Jenkins ran the Bay State Magic for 19 years producing well over 150 college players and for his efforts he was inducted into the NEAAU Hall of Fame in 2011. 

Coach Leo on Kalon: “I’ve known and respected Kalon for many years and the chance to add a basketball mind and leader to our staff was a no brainer. Kalon’s knowledge and experience will make us better in practice and games.” 

Zachary Michalak

Michalak joins the Falcons in the newly created position of Remote Recruiting Coach. He will scour the Atlantic Region and beyond for Falcons from his home in Virginia. He has been a recruiting writer for Prep Hoops since 2019 as well as the Director of Recruiting for the Loaded 757 AAU program. He launched his Gotham Database, a popular recruiting service in 2023. 

Coach Leo on Zach “Zach has a passion for recruiting and his relentless pursuit of finding the best possible players will add value to our program.” 

Devin Gilligan 

Gilligan joins the Falcons in the newly created position of Remote Scouting Coach. He resides in Florida and sometimes overseas as his professional basketball career continues. He will aid the Falcons in film breakdown and game preparation. His playing career has brought him to all corners of the globe. After graduating from Southern New Hampshire in 2017 (after winning the NE10 player of the year), he has played on 5 Continents and was drafted by Delaware in the 2017 G League Draft. 

Coach on Devin: “As Devin finishes up his playing career he’s taking the proactive step to get involved with college coaching as a remote coach. He will help us tremendously on the scouting and preparation side of things.”
