Director of Athletics Hannah Bazemore has announced a change in leadership of the Campbell men’s basketball program. Kevin McGeehan‘s contract will not be renewed, and after 12 seasons as head coach at Campbell, he has been relieved of his duties.
“After thorough evaluation, it was apparent that a change was needed to help our men’s basketball program achieve what is expected and attainable,” said Bazemore. “While it is always difficult to make a coaching transition, this is the right time for our program. I want to personally thank Coach McGeehan for his leadership over the last 12 seasons and wish him and his family all the best moving forward.”
Over his tenure in Buies Creek, McGeehan, the 2019 Big South Conference Coach of the Year, was 184-199 overall, including a 2019 Big South regular season title and the Camels’ first-ever NIT berth.
Campbell will immediately initiate a national search for its next men’s basketball head coach.
