I can confirm that two Mississippi JUCO’s in Region 23 / MACCC have opened (teased this a bit in today’s DAILY DIRT)…
Copiah-Lincoln Community College (11-15 / 3-11 MACCC): Davis Sanders is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at Co-Lin. Sanders had been the head coach at the college since 2021. The former standout at Ole Miss was a starter on the Sweet Sixteen that finished ninth in the country in 2000-2001. Prior to his time at Co-Lin, Sanders went 182-40 record during his eight years at Callaway HS (MS) including capturing three state championship (2020, 2015, 2014).
Northwest Mississippi Community College (7-19 / 1-13 MACCC): Shane Oakley is out as the head men’s basketball coach at Northwest Mississippi Community College after seven seasons on the job. Oakley also spent 12 seasons as an assistant at the school over two separate stints. He also spent time on the staff at region foe Jones College, and worked as a graduate assistant at Delta State.
