Join Doane University Athletics and help shape the future of Doane Men’s Basketball! We’re looking for an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach who will scout and recruit top talent, develop game strategies, and mentor student-athletes. This position works closely with the Head Coach to lead practice sessions, analyze game film, and create winning game plans. Responsibilities also include organizing summer camps, database management, and coordinating campus visits for recruits.

FLSA Salaried (Exempt)
Salary Commensurate with experience, with a starting salary of $34,000
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of competitive playing and/or coaching experience at the college level (or equivalent)

Experience should demonstrate:

  • Effective leadership of the team and the basketball program
  • The ability to diligently and effectively recruit and retain student-athletes. This includes being willing to travel in and out of state
  • Excellent knowledge of the sport
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, show initiative, and manage projects while keeping an organized workflow.
  • An outstanding ability to teach the sport to student-athletes
  • The ability to represent Doane University positively and effectively.
