According to a Jon Rothstein report, Navy intends to promote Jon Perry to head coach. Perry, who has served as the associate head coach for the past 12 seasons would replace his former boss Ed DeChellis, who retired back on March 19th.
Perry had spent the past 23 seasons coaching or playing under Ed DeChellis. Since joining Midshipmen staff in 2013 the, Perry has helped lead Navy to multiple winning seasons, including two 20-win campaigns and a 2021 Patriot League regular-season title. His coaching career began at East Tennessee State, where he played four years before serving as a graduate assistant. He later worked at Penn State, helping the team win the 2009 NIT title, and at Quincy University as an associate head coach
