It’s been about five weeks since B.J. Dunne departed Gettysburg to take over at MIT, and the search to replace him is finally winding down. The three finalists for the position interviewed last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and it sounds like an offer was made late in the week.
The final three included former Campbell University head coach Kevin McGeehan (a 1995 Gettysburg grad and former team captain) and two current D3 head coaches.
McGeehan had spent the past 12-seasons at Campbell where he went 184–199 (.480) and advanced to post season appearances in the NIT (2018-19), CBI (2017-18), and the CIT (2016-17). The coaching veteran also served as an assistant at Richmond and Air Force, and spent two seasons as the head coach at D3 Beaver College (now Arcadia University).
The D3 head coaches are both currently less that two hours from Gettysburg and have been at their schools for 10+ seasons.
The official announcement could come as early as today.
