Louisiana Monroe adds Stansbury as Assistant Basketball Coach

ULM head men’s basketball coach Phil Cunningham announced another addition to his staff for the 2025-26 season on Thursday (Oct. 9). Noah Stansbury joins the staff as the newest assistant coach for the Warhawks.

“I’ve spent a lot of time around Noah and have seen firsthand his deep passion for the game of basketball,” said head coach Phil Cunningham. “He’s grown up in gyms and locker rooms, essentially earning a doctorate in college basketball coaching and recruiting from years of observing and learning alongside his dad and his brothers. During his time at WKU, I had the privilege of coaching him for three years, where his work ethic, basketball IQ and leadership stood out every single day. I’m truly excited to add Noah to our coaching staff—he’s going to be a tremendous asset.”

Stansbury was on the roster for two seasons at Memphis, previously spending three seasons at Western Kentucky playing for his father, Rick Stansbury and ULM head coach Phil Cunningham. In his time at Western Kentucky, the guard earned the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal while seeing action in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

The Bowling Green, Ky., native’s father is well-respected basketball coach Rick Stansbury. Coach Stansbury is the all-time leader in career wins at Mississippi State, taking the Bulldogs to postseason play 10 times–six being to the NCAA Tournament. Cunningham and Stansbury spent a total of 17 years working together, 13 years at Mississippi State and four while at Western Kentucky.
