Jon Merceus is apparently out as the head men’s basketball coach at D3 Manhattanville after less than three months on the job. Merceus has been 404’d from the website, and Romello Ford is now listed as the Acting Head Coach.

According to multiple reports, including one from Westchester News 12, Merceus was arrested last week and has been accused of trying to injure a disabled student. Merceus, who had been employed full-time as a school employee in Yorktown while coaching part-time at Manhattanville, has since been terminated by the school district.

Authorities say the 33-year-old obstructed the victim’s breathing last month. He is charged with endangering the welfare of the student.

Merceus was named as the head coach at Manhattanville back in early September following a six year stint as an assistant at D2 Pace.
