Air Force suspends Head Basketball Coach Joe Scott indefinitely

Air Force has announced that Head Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Scott has been suspended indefinitely. The Academy released the following brief statement:

Air Force Men’s Basketball Head Coach Joe Scott has been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation into the treatment of cadet-athletes. Assistant Coach Jon Jordan (USAFA ’85) will serve as interim head coach.

No further information is releasable at this time.

Scott released a statement of his own:

In response to today’s action, I will fully cooperate with the investigation and look forward to a proper resolution of this matter,” Scott said in a statement. “I will not have any further comment until the matter is resolved.

ESPN cites a “player treatment inquiry” as the reason for the suspension. No other details have been released.

Air Force is currently 3-14 (0-6 Mountain West), and on a ten game losing streak.
