Air Force has announced that Head Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Scott has been suspended indefinitely. The Academy released the following brief statement:
Air Force Men’s Basketball Head Coach Joe Scott has been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation into the treatment of cadet-athletes. Assistant Coach Jon Jordan (USAFA ’85) will serve as interim head coach.
No further information is releasable at this time.
Scott released a statement of his own:
“In response to today’s action, I will fully cooperate with the investigation and look forward to a proper resolution of this matter,” Scott said in a statement. “I will not have any further comment until the matter is resolved.
ESPN cites a “player treatment inquiry” as the reason for the suspension. No other details have been released.
Air Force is currently 3-14 (0-6 Mountain West), and on a ten game losing streak.
