According to multiple reports, including one from the Oleans Star, Mark Schmidt is out as the head basketball coach at St. Bonaventure.

The report states that “Schmidt, who has one-year left on his contract was informed this week by St. Bonaventure men’s basketball General Manager Adrian ‘Woj’ Wojnarowski and Athletic Director Robert Beretta that he will be relieved of his duties at the end of this season.’

In 19 years with the Bonnie’s, Schmidt went 339-253 (.573) and advanced to three NCAA Tournaments. He also won the A-10 Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2021. Last season, his squad went 22-12 and advanced to the NIT.
