Following a 13–19 campaign (4–14 in SEC play), South Carolina head coach Lamont Paris is making changes to his staff. Longtime assistant Eddie Shannon will not return for the Gamecocks. There has not been an official announcement, but Shannon posted the following on X:
Shannon had been on the USC staff for the past four seasons, and was on Paris’ staff at Chattanooga before that. The former Florida standout also worked at Canisius and Palm Beach Atlantic following a 10-year professional playing career overseas.
It’s unclear whether this will be the final move on Lamont Paris’ staff this offseason. Paris, who is 62–68 during his tenure with the Gamecocks, was reported to be safe to return next season earlier this month, but changes to his staff appeared inevitable.
