Holmes elevated to Director of Basketball Operations at Belmont

Belmont University men’s basketball head coach Evan Bradds announced Friday the promotion of Clay Holmes to the role of director of basketball operations within the Bruin program.

Holmes spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant at Belmont for Casey Alexander.

“We are pleased to announce Clay Holmes will remain on staff as our director of basketball operations,” Bradds said. “Clay has demonstrated his commitment to Belmont over the past two years as a graduate assistant. His passion for the game and his existing relationships with our players are valuable.”

While serving as primary point of contact for team travel, nutrition, operations, and technology integration, Holmes will maintain his program support in areas of practice plan execution, video breakdown through Synergy Sports, player development, game preparation and a variety of other coaching staff needs.

A native of Brentwood, Tennessee, Holmes was a three-year letterwinner on the Samford men’s basketball team.

The guard was high school teammates with Darius Garland and Tyler Tanner.

Holmes earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Samford in 2024 and is completing course work towards his Belmont MBA.
