Former Boston College head coach Earl Grant is expected to join Rick Barnes staff as an assistant coach at Tennessee, according to a Mike Wilson report.
Grant had spent the past five seasons as the head coach at BC where he went 72–92 (.439), which included a 31–67 (.316) ACC mark. Prior to his time with the Eagles, Grant went 127-89 (.588) in seven years as the head coach at the College of Charleston. His 2017-18 C of C squad captured the CAA Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to his time as a head coach, Grant worked as an assistant at Clemson, Wichita State, Winthrop, and The Citadel.
Grant would replace Justin Gainey who became the head coach at his alma mater NC State earlier this spring.
More on this move once it’s made official.
