Athletic Director Craig Rainey ’89 announced the hiring of Jamison Webster ’16 as the new head coach of the Adrian College men’s basketball program. Webster, an Adrian College alumnus, transferred to Adrian after playing two seasons at Siena Heights University. He becomes the 30th head coach in program history, which dates back to 1902.
“We are very excited to name Jamison Webster as our new men’s basketball coach,” Rainey said. “We believe that as an Adrian College alum, he will provide a winning culture to the men’s basketball program and bring us to the top of the MIAA. We believe his connections to the local community will provide the team with the support they need to be successful on and off the court.”
Webster has served as head coach of the Tecumseh High School boys basketball team since 2019, leading the program to its first SEC Championship in 28 seasons. The team also captured its first district championship in 28 years and posted four consecutive 15-win seasons. He was named County Coach of the Year following the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, earned Cave Coach of the Year and SEC Coach of the Year honors in 2021-22, and received Honorable Mention All-State Coaching recognition in 2021-22.
Prior to Tecumseh, Webster served as an assistant coach at Britton Deerfield High School and Madison High School, while also spending time at Ida High School as head coach.
“I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to return and coach at my alma mater,” Webster said. “I have a deep passion and love for Adrian College because of the experience I had here as a student-athlete. I want to thank President Docking, Coach Rainey, Meg Sharp, Bill Schindel, Gary Astalos, Frank Hribar, and the rest of the individuals on the interview committee for entrusting me to lead the men’s basketball program. We look forward to building the program from the ground up, focusing on our core values of creating a positive environment while providing the best possible experience for each of our student-athletes.”
During his time as a student-athlete at Adrian College, Webster was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2014-15 and served as team captain. At Siena Heights, he was Team Captain and Team MVP in 2013-14 and was named to the WHAC All-Conference Integrity Team in 2012-13.
Webster will begin his coaching responsibilities immediately as he prepares the Bulldogs for the 2026-27 season, which is slated to begin in November.
