DAILY DIRT – 4/23/26

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

A few quick things to start the day…

I have heard that D2 Ferrum head coach Pat Corrigan is on the move. He had been at Ferrum for the past four seasons where he oversaw the Panthers move from D3 to D2. This past season, he was named as the Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year after leading his team to a 16-11 (14-6) record in their first year at the D2 level. More on this one shortly.

I mentioned in yesterday’s Daily Dirt that on campus interviews are underway at D3 Colby College. In addition to names that I’ve already mentioned here (former Dartmouth head coach David McLaughlin and NYU associate head coach Chris Thompson), I’ve heard that Claremont-Mudd-Scripps associate head coach Michael Wells is also in the mix here. He has been at CMS for the past four seasons, and has also worked as an assistant at Occidental and the head coach at Villanova prep.

Zoom interviews are underway at NAIA Webber International (FL). Names that I’ve heard here include current WIU assistant Jordan Counts, Eckerd College assistant Jesse Repay, and Ave Maria assistant Paul Matthews. Not sure of the timeline here.

I have heard that Hutchinson CC assistant coach Troy Potts is on the move and it sounds like he will join Hunter Jenkins’ new staff at Navarro CC. Last season was Potts’ first at Hutch – he has also worked at Frank Phillips College and Quincy University.
