Middle Tennessee men’s basketball has added Justin Levine to its staff for the upcoming 2026-27 season, head coach Nick McDevitt announced Tuesday morning. Levine will join the program as an assistant coach after spending the last five years at UNC Asheville.
“I am super excited and grateful to join Coach McDevitt and his staff at this incredible institution,” said Levine. “I can’t wait to get to work with our players and pursue our goal of competing for championships.”
In 2025-26, he helped guide the Bulldogs to their seventh-consecutive season with at least eight conference wins and a fourth-straight trip to the Big South semifinals, making UNC Asheville one of just 22 programs nationally to accomplish that feat. During Levine’s time in Asheville, the Bulldogs captured a Big South regular season and tournament championship, earned an NCAA Tournament berth, and produced multiple 20-win seasons.
“I an really happy with the addition of Justin Levine to our basketball staff and the Middle Tennessee community,” said McDevitt. “He has a great reputation for being a relentless recruiter, a hard worker and he has a skill for developing deep relationships.”
Prior to UNC-A, Levine served as an assistant coach at Columbia and as a video coordinator at VCU. Focusing primarily on offense, he played a large role in maintaining the offensive playbook for the Rams and created drills and workouts for positional groups with the Lions.
Levine worked with the Cornell men’s basketball program from 2013-15 while pursuing his undergraduate degree in business administration from Ithaca College. He then graduated with a Master of Education from the Center for Sport Leadership at VCU in 2017.
