Description:

The Director of Basketball Revenue Strategy serves as a strategic member of the Men’s Basketball leadership team and is responsible for leading initiatives that increase philanthropic revenue in support of the Men’s Basketball program. Working collaboratively with the Director of Athletics and Head Men’s Basketball Coach, this position develops strategies to identify, cultivate, engage, and steward alumni, friends of the program, and other supporters whose financial investment advances the competitive success of Campbell Men’s Basketball. This position reports primarily to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, with a dotted-line report to the Director of Athletics and the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

The Director serves as the primary relationship manager for basketball-specific philanthropic initiatives and works collaboratively with Athletics leadership and University Advancement to align program priorities with institutional objectives while ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •   Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy for Men’s Basketball, with an emphasis on securing philanthropic support for Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) initiatives, revenue-sharing opportunities, and other student-athlete benefits.
  •   Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, former student-athletes, parents, friends of the program, and other supporters to generate financial support for Men’s Basketball priorities, including roster retention and enhancement, recruiting resources, and student-athlete experience initiatives.
  • Partner with the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Director of Athletics, and the Office of Institutional Advancement to identify funding priorities and coordinate fundraising strategies that align with departmental and University objectives.
  • Manage fundraising efforts for Men’s Basketball program priorities, including, but not limited to, NIL support, program enhancements, operational needs, capital improvements, special initiatives, and other strategic funding opportunities.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain a portfolio of prospective and current donors while documenting meaningful interactions and fundraising activity.
  • Monitor progress toward annual revenue objectives and provide regular performance reports.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective supporters.
  • Develop personalized engagement strategies that encourage long-term financial support.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Advancement to coordinate outreach strategies and stewardship efforts.
  • Work with Athletics leadership to align revenue initiatives with departmental priorities.
  • Assist with basketball-related engagement events designed to strengthen relationships with supporters.
  • Prepare revenue reports and strategic updates for Athletics and Advancement leadership.
  • Ensure all activities comply with NCAA, conference, institutional, and University policies.
  • Uphold and abide by all Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Three or more years of experience in fundraising, philanthropy, revenue generation, sales, athletics administration, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules related to Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), revenue sharing, and collegiate athletics is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all groups through both oral and written channels.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, the internet, and social media.
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with alumni, donors, student athletes, coaches, university faculty and staff, and the public.
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
