The University of New Hampshire men’s basketball program, led by fourth-year head coach Nathan Davis, announced the addition of assistant coach Dennis Csensits to the staff on Wednesday.
 
“I have known coach Csensits for many years,” Davis said. “He has been successful everywhere he has been.  He brings a wealth of experience and will be a great asset to our program and represent the university well.”
 
Csensits has been the boys basketball head coach at Allentown Central Catholic High School (Allentown, Pa.) since 2012. He also served as Athletic Director and Director of Advancement from 2014-22 before becoming the Director of Development and Athletic Advancement in 2022.
 
He compiled a school-record 285 wins with a .736 winning percentage (285-102 record) and led Allentown Central Catholic to the PIAA 4A state championship in 2021, when he was honored as PIAA 4A Coach of the Year. Csensits received two other Coach of the Year accolades – the Pennsylvania Basketball Coaches Association in 2023 and Lehigh Valley Basketball Report in 2014.
 
Under Csensits’ leadership, Allentown Central Catholic captured nine District XI titles as well as conference championships in Lehigh Valley (2012-14) and Eastern Pennsylvania (2023). The team was honored as Regional Team of the Year in 2013 and 2014.
 
“I’m incredibly honored and excited to join the athletic department at the University of New Hampshire,” Csensits said. “Coach Davis has built a tremendous foundation, and I can’t wait to get to work with our student-athletes. My focus will be on putting the players in a position to grow, develop their skills, and compete at a championship level every single day.”
 
His previous collegiate coaching experience includes head coach at Dickinson College and stints as an assistant coach at Colgate University, The Citadel, U.S. Naval Academy and Randolph-Macon College.
 
Csensits earned a B.S. in Accounting at DeSales University, where he was a two-year starter and team captain. He also earned an MBA at Mount St. Mary’s University (Md.).
 
He served as Major Gift Officer and Director of Athletic Advancement at DeSales from 2009-14.
 
Csensits has also been an instructor at the NCAA College Basketball Academy.
