Phoenix College Athletics is proud to welcome Jermaine Kimbrough as the new head coach of the Phoenix College men’s basketball program.
Kimbrough joins the Bears with a vision centered on developing student-athletes both on and off the court. As he begins his tenure at Phoenix College, he is focused on building a program rooted in character, discipline, accountability, strong relationships and a commitment to competitive excellence.
Kimbrough, a coaching veteran, has been an assistant at Grand Canyon (2024-25), Arizona State (2021-24), Loyola Chicago (2019-21), Wyoming (2016-19), Nevada (2015-16), Cleveland State (2006-15), Purdue Ft. Wayne (2005-06), UMass (2004-05), Cleveland State (2003-04), and Howard College (TX) (2001-03).
“We are excited to welcome Coach Kimbrough to Phoenix College and to our athletics family,” said KK, Phoenix College Athletic Director. “His vision for developing student-athletes and building a strong program aligns with the values we have here at Phoenix College. We are looking forward to seeing what he brings to our men’s basketball program and are excited for the future of Bears basketball under his leadership.”
Kimbrough expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the program and emphasized his commitment to helping Phoenix College student-athletes succeed in every area of their lives.
“I’m incredibly grateful and honored for the opportunity to lead the Phoenix College men’s basketball program. My mission is to educate, equip and empower our student-athletes to pursue excellence in the classroom, on the court and in life. We will build this program on character, discipline, accountability, relationships and competitive excellence, representing Phoenix College and our community with pride. I’m excited to get to work and build something special together.”
With a focus on education, development and competitive excellence, Kimbrough looks forward to getting to work with the Bears and building a program that represents Phoenix College and the surrounding community with pride.
