Mike Miller enters his first season as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Howard
College.
Miller graduated from Alvernia University, where he scored 1251 career points. He is the
career leader in 3-point field goals made with 246 and was a member of the 2014 and
2015 MAC Commonwealth Championship teams.
Miller started his coaching career as an assistant for Alvernia. During his time , the team
compiled a 68-47 record. In 2023, they were the MAC Commonwealth Regular season
champions and ECAC runner up.
Most recently, Miller was the head coach at Alvernia. In three seasons, he had a record
of 48-34. He led the team to the MAC Commonwealth Conference Playoffs and
maintained a winning record in all three seasons as head coach. In 2025, they were the
MAC commonwealth conference runner up and in 2024 they were the ECAC Runner
up. He helped developed 7 all league selections , 2 conference rookie of the years, and
six players who went on to score 1000 career points.
A native of Reading, Pa, Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management
from Alvernia University.
