I can confirm that Caltech head men’s basketball coach Doc Eslinger is on the move and will become an assistant in the Ivy League.
Eslinger has spent 18 years at Caltech, where is the program’s all-time leader in wins. During his tenure, he transformed the program and establish a number of historic milestones. Under Eslinger, the Beavers made their first-ever postseason tournament appearance in the 100-year history of the program, set a modern-era record for wins in 2021-22, and recorded the program’s first victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps since 1971.
Caltech also produced seven 1,000-point scorers during Eslinger’s tenure, two professional players, and more than 175 team and individual records. Eight of his former assistants have gone on to become head coaches.
Eslinger was also named the 2019-20 SCIAC Coach of the Year, a Silver Waves Media Most Impactful Coach in 2020 and 2021, and an NABC Guardian of the Game. He served on the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball National Committee and chaired Region 10.
