Oregon head coach Dana Altman has announced the hiring of Tom Hankins as an assistant coach.

Hankins brings more than 30 years of coaching experience to Eugene. His career has included stops in the NCAA, NBA G League and NBA, highlighted by more than two decades coaching Division I basketball and the last seven seasons with the Indiana Pacers organization.

Most recently, Hankins served as head coach of the Noblesville Boom, the NBA G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, from 2020-26.  He joined the Pacers organization in 2019 as assistant player development coach, where he helped develop players for both the NBA and G League levels.

Prior to joining the Pacers organization, Hankins was the head coach at Central Oklahoma from 2015-19. Before taking over at Central Oklahoma, Hankins spent three seasons as associate head coach at Southern Illinois.

Hankins enjoyed a successful 15-year run as an assistant coach at Oral Roberts from 1997-2012. During his tenure, the Golden Eagles captured five Summit League titles and advanced to three NCAA Tournaments.

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hankins began his coaching career in 1991 at Northwest Missouri State, before coaching at the high school level from 1992-1997. Hankins played collegiately at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (1984-86) and Northeastern State (1987-89).
