Andrew Cobian joined the men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 season, having previously served as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator at Loyola University Chicago for two seasons.
After joining the Ramblers’ staff in September 2024 with oversight of the program’s scouting efforts, Cobian was promoted to offensive coordinator ahead of the 2025-26 season, expanding his responsibilities within the program.
In his role as offensive coordinator, Cobian oversaw the development and implementation of Loyola’s offensive system while playing a significant role in game planning, scouting and player development.
During his first season at Loyola in 2024-25, Cobian helped the Ramblers finish 25-12 overall and third in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Loyola earned a double-bye in the A-10 Tournament before continuing its season with an impressive postseason run that culminated in an appearance in the NIT Final Four — the program’s first trip to the NIT semifinals since 1962.
Cobian arrived at Loyola after spending three seasons with the Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, where he held multiple positions within the organization. Most recently, Cobian was elevated to assistant coach for the 2023-24 season after previously serving as head of player development.
In his first season as an assistant coach with Long Island, the Nets finished 19-15 overall and advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals after upsetting the first-place Osceola Magic in the conference semifinals. Overall, the Nets compiled a 60-39 record during Cobian’s tenure with the organization.
Prior to transitioning to professional basketball, Cobian spent five seasons with the Hofstra University men’s basketball program. He began his tenure as video coordinator in 2016 and spent three seasons in the position, where he planned, edited, produced and compiled video packages utilized by the coaching staff for scouting, recruiting and game preparation.
Cobian was elevated to director of player development for his final two seasons at Hofstra. In that role, he was responsible for helping prepare student-athletes for athletic success while working closely with the coaching staff to develop strategies for continued player development and improvement.
Cobian began his coaching career at New York Institute of Technology, serving as an assistant men’s basketball coach from 2011 through 2015. He then joined the Pace University men’s basketball program as a graduate assistant for the 2015-16 season.
A native of New York, Cobian was a four-year member of the Centenary University men’s basketball program. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Centenary in 2011 before receiving his master’s degree in media and communications from Pace University.
