Presbyterian College men’s basketball head coach Quinton Ferrell announced the promotion of Justin Griffith to associate head coach. Griffith enters his fifth season with the Blue Hose after serving as an integral part of Presbyterian’s coaching staff over the past four seasons.
“I’m excited to announce that Justin Griffith will be elevated to Associate Head Coach,” Ferrell said. “This is a title that he has earned through an incredible work ethic, commitment to the PC program in recruiting, scouting, player development, and relationship building, while also maintaining elite professionalism and loyalty. Justin has helped us build a great culture over his tenure that has directly led to some of the best seasons in PC’s Division 1 era. I’m thankful for him and his family’s sacrifice that allows him to pour into our program the way he does. We are excited for what’s next and know that the best days are ahead.”
Griffith, during his 14-year college coaching career, which has included stops at Presbyterian, North Carolina Wesleyan, Lander, Mount Olive, and Winston-Salem State, has coached and recruited four All-Americans, five All-Region players, 31 All-Conference Players, four Conference Defensive Players of the Year, two Conference Players of the Year, and one Conference Freshman of the Year.

In his four seasons at Presbyterian, the Blue Hose have earned two postseason tournament berths with back-to-back trips to the CBI (2024, 2025). He has coached and recruited six All-Big South selections and three Big South All-Freshman team honorees. Jaylen Peterson was named Big South Defensive Player of the Year in 2026, the first time a Presbyterian player has earned the award. The Blue Hose also began the 2023-24 season with a road victory at SEC foe Vanderbilt. In the 2024-25 season, the Blue Hose recorded seven Big South Conference wins, which is tied for the fourth most Big South wins in school history. Presbyterian earned the fifth seed in the Big South Tournament, which was the highest Big South Tournament seed in the program’s history. In the 2024-25 season, the Blue Hose won 10 games in the Templeton Center, which was the second-most home wins in Presbyterian’s DI era. In 2025, the Blue Hose were recognized for their hard work in the classroom by earning the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the first time in school history.
