Fresno State men’s basketball head coach Vance Walberg announced the addition of Dillon Hod to the Bulldogs’ coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Hod comes to Fresno State after spending the past two seasons at Hofstra, where he served in assistant player development and worked closely with the Pride’s student-athletes through individual and group workouts focused on game-speed skill development.
“We’re excited to welcome Dillon to Fresno State and add him to our staff,” Walberg said. “He brings a lot of energy to the gym and has a strong background in player development and recruiting. He has built great relationships throughout basketball, and I think he will connect really well with our players. We’re looking forward to having him help our program continue to grow.”
During his time at Hofstra, Hod played a role in the program’s daily basketball operations and player development initiatives. He also worked directly with NBA and professional players, along with Hofstra alumni, during offseason workouts and runs.
In addition to his player development experience, Hod brings a background in recruiting and talent evaluation. Prior to joining Hofstra, he spent two years as a recruiting assistant with Kingsley LLC from 2022-24. In that role, Hod evaluated prospects through film and live scouting, assisted with talent identification and maintained recruiting databases.
His experience in both recruiting and player development has allowed Hod to build relationships with players, coaches and recruiting contacts throughout college basketball, including within the transfer portal.
Before beginning his coaching career, Hod played collegiately at Saint Vincent College, where he helped the Bearcats reach the Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship game. His playing career helped develop his understanding of team systems, game preparation and player development.
Hod earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Saint Vincent College.
