Missouri State men’s basketball head coach Paul Lusk announced that assistant coach Derrick Tilmon will depart the program after three seasons on the Springfield campus.
Tilmon, a native of Clarksdale, Miss., came to Springfield on July 13, 2012 after three years as an assistant at Southern Indiana. He is a 2000 graduate of Southern Illinois University where he played 82 games for the Salukis from 1997-2000.
According to Tilmon, he will be exploring other coaching opportunities upon departing from MSU.
“I want to thank Derrick for his time at Missouri State and for his hard work in the three years he was on our staff,” said Lusk. “He’s a quality individual and we’re grateful for his contributions here.”
Lusk noted the search for Tilmon’s replacement will begin immediately.
