Former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee standout Tone Boyle was recently named head men’s basketball coach at Highland Community College in Freeport, Ill. Boyle played at Highland Community College in 2007-08 before closing out his collegiate career at Milwaukee.

Boyle spent the last two seasons as a graduate manager with the Panthers and in 2013-14 helped the program earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament while also securing 21 wins.

During his playing career at Milwaukee, Boyle helped lead the Panthers to the Horizon League regular-season title and a bid to the National Invitation Tournament in 2010-11. That season, he posted 12.9 points per game while starting all 33 contests. In two seasons in Milwaukee, Boyle recorded 823 points and 149 three-point field goals.

After averaging 13.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per outing his first season at Milwaukee, the guard collected Second Team All-Horizon League and Horizon League All-Newcomer Team recognition before a back injury sidelined him for the 2009-10 campaign.
