Urbana University released Jeff Porter of his duties as head men’s basketball coach. The search begins immediately for Porter’s replacement.

Urbana University Athletic Director Doug Young hired Porter to take over the Blue Knight men’s basketball program in March of 2008. “I would like to thank Coach Porter for all of his outstanding efforts over the past six years," said Young upon the announcement. "He was instrumental in helping to navigate our entire athletics department through the unique challenges of growth that most would not be capable of. Our program has capabilities now that were never deemed possible because of his leadership and will certainly reap the benefits of his dedication for years to come.”
