Head coach Dan Hurley has announced the addition of Steve Enright to the Rhode Island men’s basketball staff, serving as the team’s assistant director of basketball operations.
A native of South Kingstown, R.I., Enright has an extensive background in collegiate coaching, camps, and event operations. Most recently, he served as the director of event operations for Zero Gravity/Hoop Mountain Basketball. In that role, he supervised numerous events, tournaments, college showcases, and camps throughout the country.
This past academic year, Enright was an assistant coach at Pfeiffer University, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Falcons’ program. He was very active in the program’s recruiting efforts and was the team’s coordinator of community outreach. Enright also served as the team’s academic coordinator while overseeing the development of point guards. He also served as an assistant coach at Mount Ida College and Endicott College.
From 2008-11, Enright was the co-director and head coach of the New England Cyclones AAU basketball team. He was responsible for 16 teams at the 5th-11th grade levels and oversaw the finances, operations, and day-to-day running of the program.
Prior to moving to the college ranks, he served as an assistant coach at Xaverian Brothers High School (MA) for one season.
In 2012, he earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management at Mount Ida, with a concentration in coaching.
