Daily Dirt – 3/2/15

As the small college season begins to wind down, things are starting to heat up in our world. Here are some things that I’ve heard in the past few days…

• College of New Jersey head coach Kelly Williams is resigning from his basketball position and will become the assistant AD at the college. Williams just wrapped up a 15-11 season at TCNJ (64-111 in 7 years). The TCNJ Hall-of-Famer also spent nine seasons as the head coach at Mercer County CC (NJ). More on the search as it develops.

• Yesterday, we posted the job at Palm Beach State College. I now have heard from multiple sources that the posting is just a formality. Head coach Martin McCann, who took over last April from Scott McMillin will apparently remain as the head coach after leading his team to a 20-10 record this past season. Not sure why PBSC had to post the job, but HR works in mysterious ways sometimes…

• I’ve been told by a few people to keep an eye on Henderson State (AR). Sounds like there may be an announcement any day there.

**UPDATE** A few hours after posting this, Henderson State has announced that head coach Doug Nichols will not be renewed. Here’s the story: http://hoopdirt.com/blog/a5c6c344/daily-dirt-3-2-15/…
