I can confirm through great sources that Mississippi Valley State has hired Andre Payne as their new head basketball coach. He will replace Chico Potts who was dismissed earlier this spring.

Payne has been the head coach and AD at Wiley College (TX) since 2006. He led his squad to a 19-11 (15-9) record this past season. From what I’ve heard,the official announcement at MVSU can’t be made until after July 1st.

I can also confirm that Payne will be replaced at Wiley by is assistant Jameus Hartsfield.
